Even the arms of an octopus make decisions

Intelligence comes in many forms - even in places we don’t expect. From octopus arms that respond independently to corvids planning for the future, the natural world is full of surprises.

These stories remind us that intelligence doesn’t always look the way we expect - and that curiosity can lead us to reimagine our own thinking.

Lumosity games offer a way to engage your brain in new ways - through short, challenging activities that keep you thinking.

Take a moment to explore what’s possible - and take 35% off while you’re at it.

Featured Game: Train of Thought

Over 1 billion gameplays and counting — Train of Thought remains one of our most beloved Lumosity games. So why do so many people kick off their year with it?

Your mission: Keep the trains moving smoothly by guiding each one to the correct station. With more trains, more tracks, and more destinations, you’ll need sharp focus and quick thinking to stay on track.

Planning ahead helps — but with so much in motion, even your best intentions can get derailed.

✨ Start the year with a fresh challenge. See how far your focus can go in 2026!

How well do you filter out irrelevant information?

As you may know, Lost in Migration challenges Selective Attention, or your ability to suppress the impulse to pay attention to distractors and focus only on the target.

One way to measure this ability is to look at the difference in how quickly you respond when the flock of birds are all facing the same direction versus when they’re facing different directions. A smaller difference in response times might indicate that you’re doing a better job of ignoring the irrelevant birds and focusing just on the leader.
